Cette année, il y a un grand festival international de sport
pour les jeunes d’une vingtaine de pays européens. Le
festival va commencer le 15 juillet et durer une semaine. Il
y aura des matchs de volley et de tennis et des concours de

2 Read the extract from the literary text. A teacher in Africa discovers his pupils are
working in a factory.


J’entre dans l’usine. Une centaine d’enfants sont en train de faire des
ballons de football et des chaussures de sport. Ce sont mes élèves qui
sont aux machines avec des morceaux de cuir noir et blanc !
Les enfants travaillent en silence et vite. Le directeur de l’usine me dit :
– Je suppose que tu es l’instituteur ? Tes élèves préfèrent travailler ici
que d’aller à ton école. Ici, ils gagnent de l’argent.
– Mais ils sont trop jeunes ! dis-je.
– Toute ta classe est là. Tu peux leur donner des cours pendant qu’ils
