Define the following concepts:

1.1 Leadership - is the ability and the potential to influence any group of employees
toward the achievement of identified goals. ”. According to Van Deventer and Kruger
(2008:139), leadership is generally defined as one or other form of dominance where
the subordinates more or less have to accept the commanding and controlling of
another person.

1.2 Diversity - the practice or quality of including or involving people from a range of
different social and ethnic backgrounds and of different genders, sexual orientations,
cultures; etc

1.3 School Governing Body - The school governing body (SGB) is a statutory body
of parents, educators, non-teaching staff and learners (from Grade 8 or higher) who
seek to work together to promote the well-being and effectiveness of the school
community and thereby enhance learning and teaching.

1.4 Reflective teaching - Is a process where teachers think over their teaching
practices, analysing how something was taught and how the practice might be
improved or changed for better learning outcomes.
It involves paying critical attention to the practical values and theories, which inform
everyday actions, by examining teaching reflectively and reflexively.

1.5 Multi-grade teaching - refers to the teaching of children of different grade levels
at the same time in the same setting.
Another meaning, it refers to a teaching situation where a single teacher has to take
responsibility for teaching pupils across more than one curriculum grade within a
timetabled period.
