Through self-assessment a person get to know the best type of leadership style they can
use to lead the organization. Conscious leadership is described as being loyal and caring
individual. Conscious leadership align with my values and personality as a result of personal
assessment I undertook. As per the assessment I possessed certain characteristics including
caring, humble and loyal. Other qualities of conscious leader include self-awareness, emotional
approach, wisdom, compassionate approach, and leading with humility. The test clearly stated
that I possessed the qualities. Conscious leadership is almost similar to servant leadership.
Conscious leader does not criticize the employees but tries to teach them how the task should be
done (Panadero, Jonsson, & Botella, 2017). The employee will not only improve their
performance but also respect their leader. Conscious leaders will also hold a monthly or weekly
meeting to evaluate the performance of employees and give recommendations. Servant
leadership and conscious leadership differs in that servant leadership is categorically based on
people and its people-oriented as well as providing service to the people; but, conscious
leadership entails inspiring others while reminding them off their responsibilities and duties in
the organization. The paper focuses on the personality traits, emotional assessment, and cultural
intelligence self-awareness and, how these factors affect one’s choice for leadership style.
Self-awareness
Self-awareness helps in deciding whether a leader will be effective in a defined
leadership role or not. Leaders become aware of themselves, and as a result, they understand
their purpose and lead efficient (Panadero, Jonsson, & Botella, 2017). More so, self-awareness
helps a lead find a sense of self-worth and the ways their emotions impact their effectiveness as
the leaders. Similarly, leaders become aware of other's emotion; thus, relate to their feeling as
they lead. Self-awareness has helped me identify the values and characteristics I possess such as
