Economic activities are basically 2: the production (construction, selling…) and co
They both take place in the company: they also need primary materials.
Different point of view in which we can classify activities:
1. Internal processes (everything happens in the company) vs external transac
processes happens outside, carried out by someone else)
2. Functional areas vs business areas
Internal processes External processes
Executed without involvement of an external Executed with involvement

Ex. Distillery: you have to make a plan on where you want to execute all th
start without having neither the raw materials nor the machinery: you ask o
to do the work according to your recipe.
Purchase --> brewing --> stocking --> delivery ---> selling
It all depends on what is more convenient.
Functional areas:
An other way to classify the activities is to identify in our process some activities
in terms of routine, functioning
Business areas:
Being involved in other activities that differ from the original one but that have th
convergence in terms of business
