CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM
The central nervous system control and coordinate all essential
functions of the human body.
Nervous system classification – 1: Central nervous system
•Brain
•Spinal cord
2: Peripheral nervous system
3: Autonomic nervous system
Function of nervous system
Sensory input:To monitor changes occurring inside
and outside the body
Integration:To process and interpret sensory input
and decide if action is needed
Motor input:respond to stimulus ,activate muscles or
gland
Central nervous system
It has to main components 1: Brain
2: Spinal cord
Brain is again divided into • Fore brain
• Mid brain
• Hind brain
Brain
Structure of Brain:-
• It is a complex structure of human body
• The Brain covered and protect from 'Cranium".
• Weight of Brain:- In Adult 1000-1200 gram
• Size Of Brain:- In adult (15cm long, 7cm wide, 3-5cm
thick).
, • Shape of Brain:- Bulb like shape
• Number of neurone in brain 100 billion
• Brain consist of:- water, oxygen, fat, lipid, CSF, protein
etc-
1 : Fore Brain
A – Cerebrum:-
It is a largest part of brain
• It is also called "Tel-encephalon"
• Cerebrum is important part for Read, Write, and speak
• Cerebrum contains two hemispheres with an outer
portion called the-cerebral cortex
•The two hemispheres are connected by a bridge of nerve
fibers that relay information between the two
hemispheres called the corpus callosum
• The left and right lobes are each divided into four lobes
or parts.
* Parietal lobe
* Frontal lobe
* Temporal lobe
* Occipital lobe
Functions of Cerebrum
• Intellect, memory, will power, imagination, emotion and
other
• Psychological functions
• Receive and perceive the stimuli
• To give command for reaction with the help of past
experience
