SITE PRACTICAL NOTES FOR HSE OFFICR
1.In Scaffold Tag use:
a. Red Tag do not use the scaffold.
b. Yellow Tag uses by wearing fullbody harness and Labourers can use
it.It indicates something is missing.
c. Green Tag perfect to use but wear fullbody harness.
2. Check Scaffold Transom, Ledger,Diagonal Bracing etc., parts in
Scaffold everyday we need to check before in use. If the wind speed is
40 miles stop the scaffold diamantling or erection activity.
3. Anemometer use to check the wind speed, if the wind speed is
32kmph stop lifting activity.If the wind speed is 23 kmph stop the
sheeting work. It is allow to work 17 kmph at the height for sheeting
work.
4. Scaffolders required TUV card to do scaffolding activity.
5. For radiography welding follow decay chart.It shows the reading and
how much distance we have make etc.,.
6. Everyday check work PTW, JSA, Checklist etc.,.
7. Plate compactor use in Civil to compress the sand.
8. PTW(Permit to work) : as per the Organisation requirement:
a. Hot work
b. Cold work
c. Height work
d. Excavation work
e. Lifting work
f. Confined space and so on.
, 9. For hot work area should be barricade/ closed the area with the fire
blanket and remove the combustible material and assigned fire watcher
with fire extinguisher.
10. Every month have color code.
11. Vehicle to vehicle should maintain 10 m distance.
12. 1.2 m depth is considered as a Confined Space.
13. EVACUATION PROCEDURE:
• Don’t Panic & Stop Work
• Proceed to the nearest emergency exit & Don’t run, walk fast
• Use the staircase, never use the elevator
• Walk along the LEFT side of the staircase, Leave the right side for Life
Savers and rescue team
• Give First preference to the physically challenged, pregnant mothers
and the elderly.
• Proceed to the safe assembly point & Do not re-enter the building until
the signal is given.Max. time for evacuation – 2.5 to 3.0 minutes.
14. Crane :a. Correct lifting angle must be used for lifting 60 degree is
the best lifting angle.
b. Do not lift load when wind speed exceeds 25 knots.
c. ASLI (automatic Safe Load Indicator) must be operative and crane
operator must not lift any load out of the load chart limit.
d. Use wooden mats under the crane outriggers to distribute the load.
15. Welding :
a. The voltage inside welding equipment is commonly much higher:
from 120 volts to 575 volts or more.
b. What is the purpose for grounding the case of an arc welder?
Ans: The case must be grounded so that if a problem develops inside the
welder a fuse will blow, disconnecting the power and letting you know
that repair is required.
