It focuses on facilitating personal and interpersonal functioning
across the life span. It pays particular attention to emotional, social,
vocational, educational and health related development.
Organization/Industrial Psychology
Psychologists in this area perform a wide variety of tasks in the
world of business and industry. These tasks include running human
resources departments, working to improve staff morale and attitudes,
striving to increase job satisfaction and productivity, examining
organizational structures and procedures, and making recommendations
for improvements.
Business Psychology
It provides information about such basic factors as doing business
and running it successfully.

School psychologists strive to promote the cognitive, emotional, and
social development of children in schools. They usually work in
elementary or secondary schools, where they test and counsel children
having difficulties in school and aid parents and teachers in solving
school-related problems.
Developmental Psychology
It is the scientific study of progressive psychological changes that
occur in human beings as they age. It is the study of how and why human
beings change over the course of their life i.e. from conception till death.
Cognitive Psychology
It focuses on “higher” mental processes, such as memory,
reasoning, information processing, language, problem solving, decision
making, and creativity.
Health Psychology
It focuses on how psychological factors relate to the promotion and
maintenance of physical health and the causation, prevention, and
treatment of illness.
Educational Psychology
It is concerned with human learning and development in educational
setting. It involves scientific study of techniques that can be used to
enhance learning. It examines curriculum design, teacher training,
achievement testing, student motivation, classroom diversity, and other
aspects of the educational process.
Experimental Psychology
It focuses on different areas including learning, memory, sensation,
perception, emotions, motivation and thinking. It aims to understand the
fundamental cause of behavior.
Social Psychology
It is the study of how people think about, influence and relate to one
another. It reveals how social circumstances influence behavior. It is the
study of social behavior, the study of how people organize and respond to
their social experience.
