The costumes that maleficiet wears have great fluidity .All the dresses and wings
are made up of light and airy fabric .
The black dress of angelina jolie that she wears during a battle scene indicates
who she is and where she has come from . We learn that she came from a forest
and a tribe and a tribe of winged horned fey .The dark design key was influenced
by early tubes of different regions where they did not wear armour but instead
painted their bodies ,this was the inspiration behind the maleficent battle field
look .
Aurora the queen of moors,the look created for her was somewhat fantasy like
,something that fairies would make and all the amazing embroidery and little
flowers were made my aurora blue thread .mostly aurora jewellery and dress
inspiration was taken from the original animated sleeping beauty
When she was with another queen in the castle it was suitable to give her more of
a classical structured approach .This design was not playful anymore ,it was more
serious, more woven and had a different shape with more gold .
Finally her wedding dress, which is the high point of everything , it has six
different colors and layers of chiffon decorated with handmade feathered flowers
on the entire train and bodice of the dress.
Well ,queen ingrith is all about money power and greed and to really bring out her
character every single garment that she wears has stones and gold on it .they are
all beautifully jacquarded ina way that is looks fresh and new .she drips diamond
rubies pearls and all things luxurious . The design of her looks is meant to make
her seem look wealthy but not necessarily indicate her evilness .The colors chosen
for her were not dard and heavy .She seems a woman who is very friendly as you
could ever imagine but you can't just judge a book by its cover .the dresses shows
the perfect symbolism of the relationship between the characters .
HAIR AND MAKEUP :
Maleficent has to be a fantasy creature but still it had to be beautiful .It ended up
with cheek prosthetics , a subtle nose piece ,pointy ears and sharp molars .
Initially she was given a prosthetic forehead and chin but the overall effect was
too devilish so they scrapped it .They didn't want to make a cartoon. According to
the makeup artist it took them 3 hours to apply the makeup and 1 hour to remove
it everyday .Maleficent nails are approximately long and sinister throughout the
