School children were hugely affected by Covid 19 pandemic during the 2020 academic year. Many
stayed at home and were hugely affected in one way or another. One of the big problems which the
children faced was that their play time was reduced or did not happen at all. This have impacted
negatively on the learners as a teacher I need to discover how learners can benefit from
mechanical systems and control as one of the topics I need to cover. Learners will be expected to
investigate the use of levers where they will be required to design the first class lever.

• Is to design the and make a first class lever that will be made using the simple material
• The material must be easier to find as some learners won’t be able to afford any material
that needs to be bought
• Learners must keep the first class lever simple

• Learners may not know where to place the fulcrum and how the effort is affected
