ABANOUB ASSIGNMENT 1
Mindfulness Meditation
1. I tried mindfulness meditation, mantra meditation, and spiritual meditation.
2. I chose mindfulness meditation which I practiced for a whole week. I chose this type of
meditation because it is pretty good for people who do not have a person or teacher who
can guide them. This type of meditation was also easy to practice while alone. This is a
kind of meditation required to pay attention to their thoughts while they pass through
their mind. One aspect of it is that you do not have to judge the thoughts or even get
involved with them, but you observe and note any patterns. This meditation involved
breathing methods, guided imagery, and other practices that helped in relaxing the body
and mind and help reduce stress was quite ideal for me; that’s why I decided to try it.
3. After meditating for a week, I gained a sense of wellbeing, wholeness, and joy that I
never thought was even possible. I might have been somehow depressed and lacked self-
esteem and even believed that was how life was supposed to be, but I gained a whole new
perspective after meditating. The meditative process brought a new sense of confidence
and peace. I learned that happiness is not found in things, but it is found in me: the
natural state when the mind is in balance.
I realized that I did not have to see any external source of happiness as it is a part
of me. Through mediation, I trained awareness and concentration to achieve a precise,
emotionally calm, and stable state. My personal experiences are related to meditation,
whatever I do, whatever I think, and what I want to achieve. In conclusion, mindfulness
meditation helped me evolve as it gave me a firsthand understanding of my current life in
the one week that I meditated.
