”1. What is a tissue?
A tissue is a group of specialized cells that cover the entire body for protection.”
2. What is the function of epithelial tissue? ”
The function of epithelial cells are absorption, secretion, protection and waste exchange through
diffusion. It also helps us sense things.
”3. What is the function of connective tissue? ”
Connective tissue provides strength for structure and support.
”4. What is the function of muscular tissue? ”
The main function is movement due to them being the only tissue that can contract and relax.
”5. What is the function of nervous tissue? ”
This tissues function is to send simulese and receive information from the brain and spinal cord.
”6. Describe sebaceous glands, sweat glands, and hair with regard to the function of the skin. ”
The sweat glands are what produce sweat in reaction to heat or stress. The sebaceous glands are what
produce the oils. The hair helps keep heat inside our body and keeps dust and particles out of our nose
and ears.
”7. What is the function of melanin? ”
Its function is to give piment (color) to our skin. It also protects against UV rays.
”8. List the similarities and differences of the layers of the epidermis. ”
They are all a protectant and each are composed of different types of cells. The differences between
them are all of different sizes and thickness.
