1. Why do you think research for you is really important?
As a computer engineering student research for me is one of the most important thing I
should accomplish before finishing my degree. The purpose of conducting research is to
discover new knowledge about something we are curious about, for us to develop or
expand our ideas and theories that can create things that may help the society. And
probably with research, this will totally mold myself as an individual especially in my field
which requires high credibility for them to believe that I have a strong foundation when it
comes on problem solving, because we all aware that is the essence of being an
engineer.
2. What is your experience in conducting research?
When I was in my senior high school year, I experienced doing research and I was the
leader of my group, and that was very frustrating and tiring at the same time. It really
needs a reliable resources which is very hard to achieve because it requires a lot of
effort, time and sometimes funds. We did a lot of things like conducting interviews,
surveys and even creating output. We spent almost 10 months before finishing our
research, but I can say that our effort was worth it because we are one of the “Research
of the Year” and “Researcher of the year” awardee. All the fights, tears and sweats we
shared are paid off.
3. What do you want to learn from Methods of Research?
I want to acquire enough knowledge and skill to become competent when conducting
research, for me to create a project not just to pass the subject but also to experience
the essence of being an engineering student, especially right now we are in the middle
of pandemic which is so hard for both teachers and students. I hope with Methods of
Research I can grasp more understanding to develop ideas on pursuing a certain
project.
