Impression
An Imprint or negative replica of soft and Hard tissues.
It is used to register and form a relationship between oral cavity
and it's surrounding tissues.
The negative reproduction of the tissues given by the impression
material is filled up with dental stone and other model materials
to get a positive cast.

Primary Impression; The impression of deep , hard tissues. It is a
concise statement which is used to describe the symptoms,
problems, or condition which is a reason for medical encounter.
•Secondary Impression; A secondary impression is a second less
severe problem with the patient which may or may not be
directly related to primary impression.

Those materials which are used to take impression of oral cavity
and surrounding tissues on order to make accurate prosthesis of
patient.
For example: Alginate , impression compound, impression
plaster , polysulphide, Agar , silicon.
