Deliverables and Critical Success Factors
Project management is an important aspect of a successful project. The project manager
will utilize the different project management tools available to progress the project along. Project
management tools assist the project manager with task prioritization and to keep the entire team
on par to get the project to the finish line. Two particular project management tools that can be
utilized by the project manager include the project deliverables and critical success factors. For
this paper, I will discuss what the project deliverables and critical success factors are and how
they can help with the succession of a project.
Project Deliverables
When implementing a project, there are things that are going to be needed to be
completed prior for the success of the project. The project deliverables are the outcome of the
project activities that must be completed in order to ensure a successful project. Project managers
will present the deliverables to the stakeholders via a documentation which includes the
descriptions of the deliverable as well as the delivery timeline. There are two different types of
deliverables; internal and external. Internal deliverables are those deliverables that are in-house
and required to complete a project, deliver a good, or provide a service. Internal deliverables are
not seen by the customer and are not considered final. They are part of the steps in a project that
will lead to the completion of that project. External deliverables are those deliverables that are
provided to the customers or the final good after project completion (Bloomenthal, 2022).
As a project manager, when creating deliverables, it is important to relate them to the
SMART goals that were stated on the project scope and charter. When creating the list of project
objectives, the project manager needs to break down each objective into specific tasks to ensure
every aspect and task is being completed prior to the finish of the project. Two types of
