, Democracy is an overrated type of government. Seizing the power of the people, fellow
countrymen despite lack of power to eradicate crimes and corruption against civilians.
To invoke what is right and dedicated the government to its priority sector, their citizens
themselves, they must focus on what will they do in order to have a unique system. Our
country relies on this ideology. Hearing the voice of the people, the substitution of every
act came from the people, and any consideration as the government about their tactics
and decision on their citizens. As Britannica (n.d.) defines that democracy is literally,
ruled by the people, which is the country suffers more on its decision than the people
themselves (Meaning and Types of Democracy | Britannica, n.d.). That is why
Democracy is an overrated ideology of all time.
Here in the Philippines, the type and brief distinction of our government relies on this
phrase presidential, representative, and democratic republic (The Philippine
Government | Embassy of the Philippines in Norway, n.d.). Presidential, as the
framework according to the 1987 Constitution that the form of government must be
Presidential, together with the three existing branches, such as the Executive,
Legislative, and Judiciary. Then we have the representative, representing the entire
citizenry, consisting of over 112. million people in the country, represented by the over
260 party list and over 304 congressmen that deliver and address their issues and
concerns from their local government units, from cities to barrios. Next, being
democratic. We have a democratic type of government that relies on this ideology.
Hence, discussed that the people are the sovereign body and the dictator of its goods
and rights, passing the Latin quotation Vox Populi, Vox Dei, which translates to the
voice of the people, is also the Voice of God. Democracy leads to the systematic
process of appointing by choosing or selecting government officials, through the
election. And other kinds of electoral processes such as the initiative, plebiscite, recall,
and referendum. (Initiative and Referendum Overview and Resources, 2022). These are
helping to announce and emphasize the pulse of the people. And lastly, republic.
