Elections, Electoral Systems, and Political parties
An introduction to the politics of voting as well as the factors of influence on voters. These notes outline both, the long term factors that influence votes, as well as the short term factors. These notes also explain each type of electoral systems: single-member district, proportional representation, and hybrid systems, as well as all the advantages and disadvantages of all. The reasons for the development of political parties are also listed. Lastly, a brief summary of what centralized political parties are and the characteristics of them.
