Year 3 HASS - “My Island”
The summative task for this unit required students to create their own island and then five rules for this
island that related to the island they had designed. The students must justify their chosen rules in
correlation to their island. This work sample is in response to the HASS formative assessment that
focused on civics and citizenship regarding rules and laws. This formative assessment is extremely
similar to that of the summative task which involves the students designing and creating rules and laws
with justification. This is a year 3 based HASS curriculum.
