(1) A pleasant life. This is also known as a life of enjoyment, it is how people
optimally experience positive feelings, emotions, and thoughts that are part of normal
and healthy living.
(2) A good life. This is also known as a life of engagement. Seligman looks at
the beneficial effects of involvement, fascination, and flow that are felt by
individuals when they are optimally engaged in their primary activities.
(3) A meaningful life. This is also known as a life of affiliation. Seligman looks
at how individuals derive a positive sense of wellbeing, belonging, meaning
and purpose because they are part of and can give back to something
larger and more permanent than themselves
