ArchestrA
ArchestrA is Microsoft's .NET-based Technology Architecture, developed by Wonderware to
facilitate and drive Device and System Integration at different levels.
It is not a software component or a CD that can be purchased. It is an architecture on which
software is generated that is easily deployable and integrable. ArchestrA, consists of:
Software Products:
• At the Server level, the base product is System Platform 3.0, which includes the
application execution engine (Industrial Application Server), storage and management
services for process and infrastructure information (Historian), Web services
(Wonderware Information Server) and drivers for communication with field devices to
facilitate horizontal integration.
• At the Client level: InTouch, ActiveFactory, MS Office integration.
Through these products, ArchestrA provides a Unified Service Framework.
Functionalities that facilitate integration with other SCADA and field devices:
• ArchestrA Bulk Import, FactoryGateway.
Technology developed on standards:
• ISA95, ISA88, OPC, B2MML.
Development and maintenance applications:
• IDE, SMC, VisualStudio, AOT.
Programming Languages and Technologies:
• Quickscript, C#, C++, Visual .Net, XML, OCX that allow communicating Transactional
Applications with Real-Time Applications.
• Neutral Execution Language (CLR/Boostrap/Platforms).
