Assignment #3: Chapter 5- Air Transport and The Role of Airports
1. Provide at least two (2) issues or challenges faced by Airport Management
specifically this time of Pandemic/Health crisis we are experiencing today.
1.1. Airports, in tandem with their operators, will have to implement new
safety and risk management policies.
- The Airport Management will have to adjust to the specified guidelines that
COVID-19 has structured the tourism industry, hence it also declares that policies
of the organization have impacted their accustomed profession.
1.2. Normal airport operations and infrastructure might be seriously
impacted.
- Challenges such as airport operations and other infrastructures have led to its
downfall since the pandemic began, thus; this structure that inclined with the
pandemic, some management is experiencing complexity when it comes to
adjustments.
2. What is your stand and Why? Explain your answer.
- Demand volatility, new rules and procedures in almost every system area, and
rigorous expectations for maximum economic efficiency all create a challenging
environment to forecast, manage, and govern. Airport management must make
split-second decisions and maintain a high degree of adaptability to minimize
disruptions and prepare for a rapid return to normal operations.
