There has been an informal conference scheduled with the director of OSHA to contest
some of the identified citations that were given during the OSHA inspection. To get to the point
where are at now, we have submitted a written letter to request an informal conference with the
OSHA Director. The OSHA director has agreed to discuss the contested finding. The following
finding with supported documentation will be used when meeting with OSHA Director:
Reduction in cost of penalties
Quick-Fix implementations
Request for extension on certain abatement dates.
Attendees for the meeting will include the following personnel:
Owner of facility
General Manager
Safety Specialist
Union representative
The first topic for discussion for the OSHA area director is going to be the
reduction of the penalties for all of the identified issues by 10%. Acme widget factory
has had a good safety record for the past 5 years. Prior to this OSHA inspection the
company has not had any of the following citations issued by OSHA:
Willful
Serious
Repeat
Failure to abate
