This is the final week of “Organizational Leadership”, so we are asked to summarize all the
learnings during this class. This course was very effective and applicable in my real life to
upgrade my personality as a leader and expand the knowledge of external environment. For me,
leadership was always one of the most frightening word. When there used to be delegation of the
task I always used to take my step backward from everywhere. I never used to think that I am
able to lead other because I do not have any skill and proper talent to do so. But this course has
given me an opportunity to learn the different techniques that helps to be an effective and
successful leader and explore myself. Some of the main topics that we have learnt in this course
are:
Model the Way: Leadership is a very responsible task. It depends upon how we provide our
followers a proper guidance to perform the task or influence other to do as per the need. But to
influence other or to make other encourage, we need to be credible enough. An effective leader
lives by what they say and they say what they do. This is the way to build a model for leadership.
Inspire the Shared Vision: A leader is the one who is able to achieve the goal and vision by
inspiring the followers to do so. Leadership is about how we can inspire the people by providing
a proper shared vision. So, for that, we, as a leader, need to show the guidance and envision of
future and should deliver the things that can be achieved as per the situation.
Challenge the Process: When we take the leadership responsibility then we have also accepted
the risk and challenges associated with it [ CITATION The5 \l 1033 ]. In the process of doing
leadership, we may encounter a lot of challenges. But a true leader is the one who can undertake
the challenge and then deal with it in a proper way.
