Upper limb neurodynamic tests
ULNT 1
ULNT 1 consists of:
● Fixing shoulder to prevent shoulder
elevation during abduction
● Shoulder joint abduction
● Wrist and finger extension
● Forearm supination
● Shoulder lateral rotation
● Elbow extension


Sensitizing test: cervical lateral flexion away from the symptomatic side.

Desensitizing test: cervical lateral flexion towards the symptomatic side.


ULNT 2a


ULNT 2a consists of:
● Shoulder girdle depression
● Elbow extension
● Lateral rotation of whole arm

● Wrist, finger and thumb extension
● Abduction of shoulder


Sensitizing test: cervical lateral flexion away from the symptomatic side.
Desensitizing tests: cervical lateral flexion towards the symptomatic side
or release of the shoulder girdle depression.
