Based on my definition of critical thinking, the value of critical thinking is very important in the aspect of my life whether it is personally, academically, or professionally. Critical thinking personally helps me keep my thought process better and it helps me decide what is important and the necessary steps for me to take to get where I want to be. It makes me think and explore the little steps of my personal life and it keeps my thinking process disciplined as well. Academically wise it helps me think outside of the box when working on essays and writing papers. This skill helps me become a more independent learner, researcher, and writer because the critical thinking skill helps me as a student to assess and find out my learning style and preferences, reflect on self-related strengths and weaknesses and gives us the opportunity to improve. Critical thinking is important for professional life to explore and analyze the ideas or data and to solve a problem that may arise in one’s professional life. It also gives the ability to analyze a situation from different aspects and visualize the various ways of solution. Therefore, it plays a vital role in the decision-making process as well.
