Introduction
According to historical studies, the Muslim religion came under the influence of
European powers during the colonial period. During the early thirteenth century, the Mongol
conquest of the Islamic State began in Iran and Central Asia. The study of the primary source by
Egger demonstrates how Islamic religion not only survived the cruelty of the Mongol conquest
but also spread throughout the empires. The following historical analysis shows the Civilization
of Islam before its rise during the Mongol regime.
The reason why the source is written
The source is written to give the historical background of the Mongol conquerors and
their contribution to the Islamic religion. Regions that were conquered by the Mongols include;
Northern and Southern parts of China, Central Asia, the Eastern part of Anatolia, Iraq, and Iran,
Caucasus, and Eastern Poland. From the conquest that dwarfed that of Arabs, we can see the
historical transformation of the Islamic religion and the Mongol states. The three rules of
Mongol have been examined by the Author and how their rulers converted to Islam. The rise of
three Muslims that were powerful during this period is traced and also explores the destructive
effects on western Asia that were brought about by the plague and Timur Lang. The cumulative
effects of these effects are examined on how they affect the Muslim religious life.
From this factual evidence, it can be clearly seen that aim of the Author is to show the
reader the historical Civilization of Muslim religion. Also, it shows how the Mongols conquered
some regions and the effects they brought about. The effects brought as a result of conquering
were political, social, and economical. The religions were majorly affected by political activities
