Kathryn A. Blair, PhD, FNP-BC, FAANP, is professor and family nurse prac-
titioner (FNP) coordinator at the University of Colorado– Colorado Springs,
practices as an FNP at the William Storms Allergy and Asthma Clinic (also
in Colorado Springs), and is subinvestigator at the Storms Clinical Research
Institute. Dr. Blair has published in peer-reviewed journals and as a book
and chapter author. Additionally, she serves on multiple editorial boards, in-
cluding American Journal of Nurse Practitioners, Journal for Nurse Practitioners,
Journal of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and McMaster Online
Rating of Evidence. Dr. Blair has presented nationally and internationally
(Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, and Russia) and has participated
in many professional development workshops and seminars, both in the
United States and abroad. She has served as an expert witness for the state
of Colorado and as a consultant for several universities, including Western
Governors’ University, the University of Missouri (DNP program develop-
ment), and as external examiner for the University of Botswana FNP pro-
gram. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and
is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including
the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, the American
Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau International.
