BRAIN TUMOR DETECTION AND
CLASSIFICATION USING IMAGE PROCESSING
INTRODUCTION
Brain tumors affect the humans badly, because of the abnormal growth of cells within the brain.
It can disrupt proper brain function and be life-threatening. The Human brain tumors are the
accumulation of unwanted cells at human brain. Human skull, attached with brain, is extremely
strong. Human brain tissue may be cancerous or non cancerous . So malignant tissue grows, it
can cause force inside human skull be grow. This may affect the brain pain, and to be a human
life problem. Two types of brain tumors have been identified and are Benign tumors and
Malignant tumors. Benign tumors are less harmful and slow growing whereas malignant are fast
developing and harmful.
Problem of brain tissue include:
• Family History - The peoples of 15 to 20 % of most cancers peoples were inherited, or
inherited. The atypical for a human brain problem may bbe inherited. Consult doctor if many
family peoples have diseases.
• Age - The risk of many types of human brain tumors increases with age.
• Chemical Exposure - Exposure to some chemicals, those may discover in the workplace, may
increase risk of brain cancer.
• Radiation Exposure - People showing to ionizing radiation will be a problem of brain tumor.
The event at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant is example of people aware of the ionizing
radiation effect.

, 1.1 TYPES OF HUMAN BRAIN TUMOR
1.1.1 Benign Brain Tumor :
Benign brain tumor to be often described as a group of
identical cells that do not follow normal cell division
and growth patterns and grow into microscopic cancer-
free cells. Many malignant brain tissues are detected by
CT scan or MRI scans. These tissues usually grow
slowly, do not attack neighboring tissues or spread to
other organs, and often has a border or edge that may be
seen on CT image scans. These tissues do not usually
grow into metastatic tissues. Much harmful brain tissue can be eliminated; harmful tissue doesn’t
replicate after removal. The exact causes of harmful brain tumors are unknown, but researchers
have suggested that family history, radiation exposure, or chemical exposure could be harmful.
Benign brain tumor can be life problem because it can be compress brain tissue and other
structures within a skull, so the word "benign" can be misleading. The terminology continues to
be difficult for some researchers who classify low-grade cancer tissues as "dangerous" or "very
good." Regardless, compression of the brain tissue or its additional structures by the lump is the
cause of symptoms seen with malignant tumors.
1.1.2 Malignant Brain Tumor :
A painful tumor is a rapidly increasing cancer that share
to the other parts of human brain. Typically, brain tissue
is categorized from 1 to 4, relates on their activities, such
as their rapid growth and how they can grow after
treatment. A painful human brain tumor may be staged in
grade 3 or 4, and tissues in grade 1 or 2 are generally
considered to be malignant or non-cancerous. Many of
the deadliest tissues are second-line cancer, which means that they begin in the brain. The main
brain tissues are those that originated in the brain.
