Benefits of this solution include a reduction in operating costs, increased business continuity and collaboration efficiency, scalability, flexibility of work practices, access to automatic updates, and decreased time to market ("Benefits of Cloud Computing," 2017). The primary goals of this project are to increase uptime and performance while simultaneously providing significant cost savings. The estimated cost to move Seamus’ IT infrastructure to an AEY cloud environment and provide three years of support is $390,231. AEY is an industry leader in cloud computing, with an extensive track record of providing high-quality, custom tailored solutions to a vast array of customers. This history of success and depth of capability means that Seamus can be confident in AEY’s ability to deliver the proposed solution on time and within budget. Proposed Project for Seamus Company D1. Proposed Solution As Seamus works to expand its market share, a desire to utilize new technologies in an effort to enhance their productivity has emerged. Migrating the Seamus Company’s aging IT infrastructure to an AEY Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solution would address this concern. This means that as opposed to Seamus owning and operating their own physical IT infrastructure C768 Task 2 Page 4 on-premises, AEY would provide Seamus with virtualized networking, compute, and storage resources.
