Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive-behavioural therapy is a therapeutic treatment and control in most of
psychological ailments. Initially, cognitive behavioral therapy was introduced as a main
treatment for depression with over time being used in treatment of various disorders. Among
many psychological disorders, depression is a common ailment affecting the masses due to
different situation, hence cognitive-behavioral therapy is best suited in addressing the ailment
(Hofmann et al. 431). Depression grows over a period with cognitive therapy that has a process
of modification of altered behaviors, slanted cognitions and to positive thoughts. Cognitive
behavior therapy analyses life events occurring with the method being specific on existing
disorder and providing a solution.
The self help form provides guidance on issues to analyze in one’s life pointing out
behavioral changes that may seem to be normal or for the short run. With the form having a
process, it is easy to identify a problem and at the end offer a solution to an existing problem or
disorder. Furthermore, cognitive behavioral therapy studies the behavior depicted by an
individual and offers a solution. The form offers guidance on the questions or on areas to
consider before identification of the perceived existing disorder (Gaudiano 5-7). However, at
times a person may suffer from various disorders concurrently for instance, depression and
schizophrenia have similar traits with patients having related behaviors. Using the form in such
customers, it may affect the final conclusion therefore requiring support from other methods of
disorder identification and treatment.
