This assignment is all about customer relations, expectations and needs when
provided with a service. There many types of customers who need different
types of services such as blind people who will need someone to guide them
around, hard of hearing people who might need someone to make hand signs,
old people who will need someone to carry items for them, non-English speakers
who will need someone to translate for them and many more; however for this
assignment I will be focusing on blind people, on English speakers and old
people.
Old people’s expectations
Old people have high expectations because they are old and frail so because of
this they expect things to be done properly for them.
Old people expect the staff members to be friendly because they know they are
old and vulnerable and because of that they easily get scared. Also staff
members have to look presentable because old people easily judge people and
lastly old people expect the staff members to speak good English and to be
formal because if you use slang they will think the shop staffs are full of
uneducated people and they will lose trust in the shop.
Old people’s needs
Old people need someone to assist them in case if they are in need of help.
Examples are, if they are too weak to walk, they might have to use a walking
stick or have to sit in a wheel chair and because of this they might not have the
strength to carry things for themselves also if something is out of their reach
they will need someone to reach up and get it for them and lastly if they the
shop doesn’t have an elevator the elderly male or female will need someone to
help them up the stairs and if the elderly male or female is in a wheelchair they
will need someone to carry him or her up the stairs.
