This week’s Unit 3 was easy for me to understand, at the first reading through the
introduction, before consulting the reading materials provided I found it that what we were to
learn was all about Use Case Modeling and UML. The introduction was great I was able to
understand this in a single read. The whole unit was easy to comprehend since all the
information presented was straight forward. From this readings I was able to understand what
actors are & use cases. This were so crucial in that they were what were asked in the discussion
forum. The discussion was great though not very conclusive. Nonetheless it was a healthy
discussion that gave me a clear picture of what everyone comprehended on the topic.
With the help of the internet and the provided readings I was better informed and more
confident on what is required of me. Reading most of this materials only once, I found it not
good enough to better my understanding of this topic. I had to read again and again the book
provided together with my internet sources. So far I feel that this unit is quite easy and straight
forward for anyone new to computing to understand. I believe as we go ahead I will be able to
get a better knowledge on how the whole process of Software Engineering is done. I must say
it’s very interesting.
On Creating UML diagrams for a given scenario, this was where I did struggle a little
bit. I had to consult other online materials to better understand how this is done. The topic from
the book played a key role in providing a good understanding of how this diagrams are created
and what role they do play.
