1. The dynamic organization within the individual of
those psychophysical system that determine his
unique adjustments to his environment (Gordon
Allport).
2. The personality is sum total of ways in which an
individual reacts to and interacts with others. We
most often describe it in terms of the measurable
traits a person exhibits.
3. Not only nature (heredity) or nurture (environment)
make but both together make the personality.

1. Heredity (nature) – The factors determined at
conception, one’s:
a. Biological & Physiological -- Physical stature, facial
attractiveness, gender, temperament, muscle
composition and reflexes, energy, level, and biological
rhythms are generally considered as completely or
substantially influenced by the parents. Height and hair
color are also affected by the built up of same genetic
code.
b. Psychological – shyness, fear, and aggression is traced in
inherited genetic characteristics.
