Pesticide Applicators License

Restricted Use Pesticides - A pesticide that poses more risk and could cause some human injury or environmental damage even when used as directed on the label. Commercial applicators - Persons who apply or use a pesticide or device on any property of another person for compensation. Public applicators - Persons who apply pesticides as part of their duties as employees of a state agency, county, municipal corporation, or other governmental agency. Noncommercial applicators - Persons who apply restricted use pesticides on land or property owned, rented, or leased by the applicator or the applicator's employer. Private applicators - Persons who apply any restricted use pesticides for the production of an agricultural commodity on property owned or rented by themselves or their employers, or on the property of other agricultural producers with whom they trade services. Certified handlers - Persons employed by a licensed commercial applicator, noncommercial applicator, public applicator, or pesticide dealer who handle pesticides in other than unopened containers for the purpose of preparing, mixing, or loading pesticides for application by another person, repackaging bulk pesticides, or disposing of pesticide-related wastes from these activities. Certified applicator - A person certified by the IDALS to use pesticides as a private, public, or commercial applicator.
