Before the emergence of Covid-19, the hand sanitizer market was at a situation where the
demand and supply of hand sanitizers were generally equal. The market was characterized by no
propensity for change in price of hand sanitizers. However, the outbreak of Covid-19 has
impacted this market significantly. The demand of hand sanitizers has increased enormously
owing to increased awareness of hand hygiene as an effective way of minimizing the spread of
the disease and avoiding being infected. As a result, the price of hand sanitizers has been
excessively hiked shifting the Initial Equilibrium Price (P1) to a new outcome. The graph below
