The World Economic Revolution
The transition from hunting and gathering to farming which later resulted in agrarian
revolution can be described as the Neolithic Revolution. To justify the fixed investment and
long-term production advocated by the agriculture, there was the need to have private property
rights. So, according to the North, the Neolithic Revolution that led to the shift from hunting and
gathering to farming led to the adoption of property rights such as ownership of fields by
lineages or families, private storage and other indicators of property rights. This was to ensure
that people respect others property as the society was shifting from the old norm where land
belonged to the community and whoever wanted to hunt and gather fruits could just do so
without any limitation.
Due to population pressure, there was the decline in the number of wildlife that people
depended on a source of food. There was not enough meat to feed the growing population. Many
people were living the nomadic life, but due but with time, they developed the urge to find a
place to settle on. Additionally, the world was changing, and people had to change too. This,
therefore, made people come up with ways that could assist them in creating civilization among
them. Thus, these are the three main reasons that led to Neolithic Revolution that resulted in the
creation of agriculture and more civilized society than what was there before.
According to many economists and historians, the growth of the west can be attributed to
expansion in trade mainly in the 15th century. The industrial revolution that was first witnessed
in the 18th century followed by the second industrial revolution that occurred in the 19th century
and the revolution in electronics that can be termed as the technological revolution. However,
Rosenberg and Bidzell believe that the west grew due to West's institutions that were the flexible
and political pluralism of the West. They oppose the argument that mass technological
