ACE INHIBITOR
Fall in body fluid/ sodium ions / BP release of renin from kidney. Resin converts angiotensinogen into
angiotensin 1. Angiotensin 1 is converted to angiotensin 2 in the presence of an enzyme known as
angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE).
Angiotensin 2 is a potent vasoconstrictor. It also cause sodium and water retention, aldosterone
secretion & sympathetic stimulation which leads to gross vasoconstriction and salt & water retention
which finally raises the Blood pressure.
