Gestalt principles:
-help us understand how the brain perceives pieces of info as a whole
simplicity: we select the simplest/most likely interpretation fo an object’s shape
(seeing an arrow rather than the triangle and square it’s made up of)
Closure: our brain fills in missing info (dotted lines that shapes an arrow)
Continuity: same orientation-grouped together (good continuity) (tracing the lines )
Similarity: regions of similar color, lightness, shape, texture belong to the same
group. (9 triangles of different color are seen as 3 groups)
Proximity: objects that are closer together are seen a s belonging to the same
group. (A group of 12 dots together and a group of 12 dots far away from each
other.)
Law of common fate: elements that movie together are perceived as part of a
single object (arrow lights on the road flashes one after another)
Figure and ground: your focus on the foreground or background determines what
you see (family or rabbit picture)
Hearing:
-Outer ear:
Pinna: interacts and collects with sounds coming to our ears
Ear canal
-middle ear:
Tympanic membrane: eardrum, traits vibration in the air from the outer ear to the
middle ear
