Site: lies in true pelvis in between urinary bladder anteriorly & rectum
posteriorly.
Size: (1 x 2 x 3 inches).
- Anteroposterior 1 inch
- Transverse: 2 inches at fundus.
- Length: 3 inches
Shape: pear-shaped

3 parts:
Fundus:
– upper free rounded end of uterus.
– directed upwards & forwards.
– uterine tube enters uterus at junction between fundus & body of uterus.
– Ovarian & round ligaments are attached to lateral angle of uterus.
Body:
-triangular in outline.
-lies [ ] entrance of uterine tube & isthmus.
- has two surfaces; anterior & posterior & two lateral borders.
Cervix: (cylindrical tube)
-1 inch long & 1 inch breadth.
- cervical canal (fusiform [ ] internal os & external os)
-subdivided into :
**Supravaginal portion.
**Vaginal portion.
