Guidelines for Karting
1. Definition
a) Karting means an organised activity offering leisure services in karting.
2. Location & Building
A. Location
i. There shall be an appropriate place where the activity shall be carried out and
where the karts shall be properly stored and shall not cause any kind of obstruction.
ii. It shall preferably be located in a commercial centre area.
B. Layout
i. A counter for registration purposes shall be provided;
ii. A waiting or lounge area and/or gaming facilities provided;
iii. At least one toilet;
iv. Store for the karts;
v. Parking facilities;
C. Design
i. Track layout
ii. Surface contours
iii. Direction of the racing
iv. Kerbs
v. Barriers
D. Reception area
i. A counter for registration purposes
ii. Emergency numbers to be available
iii. Waiting lounge and/or gaming facilities provided
iv. First aid kit to be provided
v. A disclaimer form to ensure that drivers wishing to take part in a session are eligible
to drive (age, size, clothing, health, drugs/alcohol, and/or abnormal behaviour)
vi. A briefing session to be delivered to the participants.
