Adam Scott - *A plastic tray that contained Adam Scott's DNA had not been disposed of and was used in a rape case. *This mistake resulted in him being in custody for 5 months. *This shows when mistakes are made when processing evidence in a criminal investigation miscarriages of justice can occur. Amanda Knox - *Amanda Knox is an American woman who spent almost 4 years in an Italian prison following her conviction for the 2007 murder of Meredith Kercher, a fellow exchange student who shared her apartment. In 2015, Knox was definitively acquitted by the Italian Supreme Court of Cassation. *One of the SOCOs went to the crime scene and did not wear protective clothing. *They also broke down the door but there was blood on the door so it could be contaminated. *The SOCOs left the bra covered in Meredith's blood at the crime scene. Anthony Hardy - *Anthony Hardy is an English serial killer who is known as the Camden Ripper for dismembering some of his victims. *In November 2003, he was sentenced to three life terms for three murders, but he may have killed up to nine people. *DR Freddy Patel, who was the pathologist, has been found guilty of incompetence over his findings on the post mortem on Anthony's first victim, Sally White. *DR Patel decided prostitute Sally White died of natural causes despite blood staining on her clothing, her bedding and on a wall in a locked room in Hardy's north London flat. *Patel concluded she had died from a heart attack during consensual sex. *His reports on Hardy's first victim discouraged a police investigation that might have saved two other women, because he had ruled out murder, there was effectively "no crime to investigate".
