The health care policy which will be discussed in this paper is Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act or HIPAA. The exact issue which will be discussed in this paper
is the security rule of Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA). The security rule of HIPAA in particular concentrates on the protecting of Electronic Protected Health Information (EPHI). Even though Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 is applicable for all the federal outfits in addition to all the types of information, no more than a few of the agencies are subject to the Security Rule of HIPAA on the basis of their roles in addition to use of Electronic Protected Health Information. All the entities covered by HIPAA, which also takes account of some federal agencies, are obliged to act in accordance with this Security Rule. This Security Rule in particular centres on defending the integrity, confidentiality & availability of EPHI, as classified in the Security Rule.
