You will learn how and why organisms are assigned to taxonomic groups and how these groups came to be. You will discover the similarities and the differences among organisms, including plants, animals, and microorganisms. You will also investigate the means by which organisms respond to their external environment and maintain homeostasis. And you will explore the complex interactions that occur within ecological communities and in the global ecosystem.
