,Introduction
- Composites are produced when two or more materials or
phases are used together to form a combination of propertie
that cannot be achieved otherwise
- Many composite materials have been created to improve
properties like stiffness, toughness, ambient and high
temperature strength
,• All composites have two
phases in common:
• A matrix phase which is
continuous and surrounds the
other phase, called the
dispersed phase

,PRODUCING FIBERS
, • Producing a fiber-reinforced
composite involves several steps,
including
• producing the fibres,
• arranging the fibres into bundles
or fabrics,
• and introducing the fibres into
the matrix
