The State and federal government’s authorities to health care
The state is a major government agency responsible for protecting public health in the
United States. For example, state health agencies collect and analyze information; set policies
and standards. And ensuring access to health care for underprivileged residents, for example
they are involved in resource development and they respond to health threats and jeopardize
legislative action to fund specific activities or to provide health care services to specific groups,
such as the poor (Berman, 2020). States have the right to oversee their individual, small and
large group insurance markets, manage their own Medicaid program and run their own insurance
market.
The federal government plays a big role in the public health system in the country. It
surveys the health status and health needs of the population, sets policies and standards, approves
laws and regulations, supports research in biomedical and health services, provides financial
assistance and is sometimes personalized. Provides health services, provides technical support
and resources to state and local health systems, and provides care. Against international health
threats, and supports international efforts towards global health. The federal government does all
of this primarily through two powers: the power to regulate interstate trade and the power to tax
