Impact of Climate Change
Introduction
Weather and climate have always had a partial or complete impact on human health.
Climate changes and variation from time to time, changes explicitly in extremes of temperature,
strongly influence the environment that provides human beings with shelter, food, security, food,
water, and clean air, in combination with other human-made and natural health stressors, climate
change impacts on human health and well-being in a variety of ways. The related health impacts
are being experienced globally. This article will identify and describe an issue that influences
global health due to climate change and explain how the mentioned issue impacts global and
individual health. Concurrently, it will describe current efforts aimed at addressing the climate
change-related health issue. It will also propose a strategy at the local level to prepare for or
address the impact of this issue and explain the needed resources, besides how the strategy would
impact individual health at the local level and global health.
Temperature Change Related Impact on Global Health
Climate change has led to significantly warmer average temperatures resulting in hotter
days and increased frequency of prolonged heatwaves. Such changes are projected to increase
heat-associated deaths globally, but particularly in the U.S. The number of fatalities is
approximated to hit ten thousand annually during summer months by the conclusion of the
century (Campbell, Remenyi, White, & Johnston, 2018). The resultant loss of lives will not be
neutralized by the minor reduction in deaths due to cold temperatures targeted during winter.
Nevertheless, human adaptive behaviors, for instance, utilization of air conditioning equipment,
are anticipated to counter the estimated death shoot from extremely high temperatures.
