REFLECTION JOURNAL
“Before you could even give life, you too must live life.”
Teenage pregnancy is a worldwide issue. It is a well-known topic that has been discussed
until now. Most of the time, I'd wonder why teenagers engage in such activities, what drove them
to do so at such a young age, and did they consider the possible consequences of their actions?
The reasons I believe youths participate in high - risk behaviors and become pregnant are, first
and foremost, the influence of others around them, even on social media. Media can be highly
dominating, especially for those who are easily persuaded by what appears on the platform.
Second, because of the pressure that the child receives and feels, they want to enter into a
relationship and rush to experience pleasures, and some kids believe that losing their virginity
will make them look cool. Third, there is a lack of supervision and education. Because there is no
formal sex education in the Philippines, individuals are hesitant to find out more information
about it, let alone discuss it.
It is tough to have a baby at such a young age. Raising a child appears to be the most
challenging job anyone has ever done. A child cannot have a child. If you do, your education and
presumably your life will be completely ruined. Some teenage moms are removed from the
house and are left with little cash. Pregnant teens who aren't even married may face emotional
stress or embarrassment from their parents and friends, resulting in limited social. Teenage
pregnancy can lead to overpopulation, medical dangers for the teenage mother, and a loss in
female education because many pregnant females drop out of school to care for their baby. Many
babies are born partially developed or with health problems. If a teen becomes pregnant, she may
face long periods of unemployment, as well as depression or other mental health issues.
As a teen, I am aware of the potential consequences of engaging in such behavior.
Today's life is difficult, which is why we should not dwell on the things we really shouldn't make
a fuss about. Preventing teenage pregnancy is really important. Sex education is a solution, and if
someone wants to discuss it, that's fine. We should not be ashamed to discuss these matters.
Preparation is necessary, and it should be one of the first thoughts that a teenager thinks. There
are numerous ways in which we might make a difference in the lives of others. If we follow an
improvement plan, we may be capable of changing the lives of many people.
