1. Describe the abiotic and biotic factors in your ecosystem. (2 points)
a. List three abiotic factors in your ecosystem.
Water, Sunlight, and Oxygen.
b. List three biotic factors in your ecosystem.
Producers, consumers, and decomposers.
c. How do these abiotic and biotic factors interact in your ecosystem? What roles do they play?
Biotic and abiotic factors both influence each other. The abiotic factors will determine what kinds
of biotic factors will be present. For example, all living things need water, sunlight, and oxygen.
Without these three elements, no animals or plants can survive.
d. How do these factors compare with those in other types of ecosystems (biomes)?
These factors are also an important elements in other types of ecosystems. For example, plants
need sunlight for Photosynthesis. They also need water.
2. Give an example of a species, a population, and a community in a freshwater or marine ecosystem. (2 points)
Algae produce oxygen in the marine ecosystem, also the sea plants at the bottom is inhabited by
decomposers and other organisms that feed small animals like snail and crayfish. Then, small finshes eat
the snail and crayfish. And then, larger finshes eat smaller fishes.
3. Draw a diagram of the water cycle, being sure to label condensation, precipitation, percolation,
evaporation, and transpiration. Put a star next to each of the two processes that bring water from Earth's
surface to the atmosphere. (1 point)
