ANALYSIS OF PROBLEMATICS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN INDONESIA

Abstract
The purpose of the research contained in this article is to analyze the problem of elementary
school physical education in Indonesia by describing the amount of information obtained
through qualitative research methods by conducting observations and interviews in several
schools. From the results studied, several problems were often encountered, namely, starting
from teachers who had no physical education background or had no knowledge in the field,
changes in cultural values, source books, other obstacles, namely facilities, infrastructure and
the children themselves who understand of the importance of physical education. The
purpose of writing this article is to describe various problems or obstacles that occur in
physical education learning in elementary schools.

PRELIMINARY
Education is an effort to improve the abilities that exist in children as optimally as possible in
accordance with the criteria and abilities that children have. In an era like today, physical education
must exist in every school because of its many benefits, such as increasing physical fitness,
developing motor skills or talents, knowledge and healthy living behavior because it can be used as a
means to increase the total potential of each individual. The problem with physical education at this
time is that there is a change in cultural values, meaning that people who used to be diligent in
moving have become lazy to move, which is triggered by all the conveniences in the era of
sophisticated technology like today where anything can be done easily without the need to exert
energy or physical activity in various activities. , that's why it is very important to learn Physical
Education if it needs to be used as a core lesson. The following will explain in more detail what are
the problems in physical education in elementary schools.
