CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION
A. Background
As we already know, that humans are born inseparable from the nature that has been determined by
God Almighty. Starting from birth, they have been given the knowledge, talents, and abilities of each
in appreciating art in their lives. Everyone has a different way of appreciating art. Some are poured in
a paint and depicted on a paper, walls, means of transportation, even on parts of the human body.
Apart from that, many people appreciate it in a very beautiful form of poetry, accompanied by music.
Because every human being is not the same, in appreciating it, art, especially music, develops and
evolves without limits. In this world there are countless numbers of music that exist now, because its
development is regardless of time and place. There are humans, so art, especially music, will develop
uncontrollably. Even in Indonesia itself there are various kinds of music, both belonging to traditional
music, a mixture of traditional and modern music.
Contrary to the description above, art cannot be separated from the culture of each region. So that
between one area and another will give a different nuance of the art of music.
B. Problem Formulation
1. What is the definition of the essence of music?
2. What is the meaning of music?
3. What is the relationship between music and humans?
4. What are the benefits of music for students?
C. Purpose
It is appropriate that in a research the writer has a purpose which is the purpose of writing. Because
the goal expresses the goals to be achieved in a research process as an answer to the problems that
have been determined in the problem formulation. The purpose of this study was to find out about
music in humans.
CHAPTER II DISCUSSION
A. The essence of music
, Music is a sound that is received by individuals and varies based on history, location, culture and
individual tastes. The true definition of music also varies, including that (1) music is the
sound/impression of something that is captured by the senses of the listener, (2) music is a work of art
with all its main and supporting elements, and (3) music is all sounds produced intentionally by a
person or by a group of individuals presented as music. From some of these definitions, music is all
sounds that are produced by humans intentionally which are presented as music. Music has three
important parts, namely bits, rhythm, and harmony. The combination of the three will produce good
music. Good music is music that harmonizes the three, so that they become a harmonious whole.
These three important parts, each will have a different influence on human life.
B. Definition of music
Music is a series of tones and sounds that are commonly used to express human emotions which are
formed in such a way that they contain rhythm, song, and sound harmony. Currently, as time goes by,
various types of music have been born including blues, jass, classical, pop, and rock music. The
following is a further explanation of the history of the development of music in the world.
