, Introduction and Scope of Study
As part of the Bachelors of Science, Hospitality Management studies at the Western
Hospitality Institute, Negril Jamaica, Mandarin Consultants Agency was commissioned to
develop a Hotel / Motel. This assignment will include the selecting proposed site from at least
two considered sites. Selecting the site for the construction of the Hotel involves an intensive
research and holistic analysis relating to the specified economic conditions involving the market
for accommodation with specific attention being paid to supply and demand.
As a consulting agency we were also charged with the following responsibilities which are
necessary for the development / construction and feasible management of the hotel:
Conceptualization and planning
Feasibility analysis
Architecture and construction
Proposed management / operations
This exercise required us to work closely with the investors as the success of the entire project was
entrusted in the Mandarin Consultants Agency. Objectives of the project /study
Conduct the necessary studies to determine a suitable site for the development of a
hotel.
Utilizes an appropriate architectural design that conforms to the location and its
environment that is feasible with operation of the specified plan.
Examining the necessary infrastructure required to support the development
Develop the future occupancy, average daily rate and operating performance of the
proposed hotel.
, Observe legal/ regulatory and environmental restrictions while executing the
development plan.
Access the potential profitability and risk involving in this business venture.
Determine the economic impacts that may results from the development and
operations of the proposed.
Conduct strategic audit to determine economic feasibility.
Methodology
Creating the plan, it requires idea generation and screening as the group is in charge with
examining at least three suitable project sites. The following sites where generated.
T Water Hotel an abandon building located on the Norman Manley blvd, Negril.
Negril Yatch Club an abandon building located at One Love Drive West End Rd
Negril.
Site Analysis
Introduction
1. Two sites were selected to see which area will be more of an advantage for the
development of Yurrel Resort and Spa Hotel. The selected site between the Negril Yacht
Club and T Water Hotel to start the renovation of the Yurrel Resort and Spa Hotel would
be the T Water Hotel based on the aerial view, location, space and accommodation. The
Negril yacht club site is located on the West End Road, Negril Jamaica. The Negril Yacht
Club site is considered to be an appropriate location, however the close proximity to the
nearby town of Negril. The site contains 600 feet of sea footage for business, it is close to
one of famous beach in Negril known as the 7mile white sand beach located on the
Norman Manley Blvd.The property contains great drainage system which would be great
